What is a blog?
Seriously, does anyone actually read a blog anymore? And for that matter what does a blog do? Really?! Well the definition of a blog is: (noun) a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style. Yep, that sounds about right. Anyhow, this is a big step for me, I’m an introvert that can be loud when I want to be (like I’m comfortable) , or need to be (because I’m being told I can’t do something). Initially I didn’t think I really had much to say, I have since re-thought the idea of a blog, so here we go…buckle up bitches!!! (that’s something cheeky I like to say)
I’d like to share my insights that I glean from the mash up of my personal/professional worlds and share my unique perspective while allowing potential clients to get to know me, if they are on the fence about reaching out. In a former role I led small educational groups and really enjoyed the interplay between the participants and myself. Now at times it was fraught with drama and I made many mistakes. I was unprofessional at times, imperfect with the procedures or paperwork, disagreements with coworkers, got too involved at times, and occasionally not involved enough. I showed up and loved my work with my whole self, and most of the time is was rewarding. I got to see people make the tiniest of changes, knowing that I was making a difference and people where improving their overall quality of life.
This is my first entry and I plan to update at least monthly, but we’ll see. I appreciate people who live life messy, and real. You can’t control anything (really) so lets live and do the best to be our best selves. It’s a tall mission. Just a couple things to know about me: First I am a brainspotting therapist, it’s my favorite way to work with clients. And, second- I am on a journey of learning about nervous system regulation to allow therapy and all complementary interventions to take root in the body and allow for lasting change/healing to take place. It seems to be a big piece that we are missing. Come and walk with me as we make sense out of this thing called life.
